While our teas from Chamraj line of of products are regular teas where very moderate use of inorganic inputs are used, ,the residual values are minimal and they pass the stringent standards of Japanese and EU regulators. In both these regions our teas are imported in large quantities. Teas from Korakundah product line are exclusively Organic.Thus Korakundah Organic Tea garden is part of the United Nilgiri Tea Estates Company Limited at Nilgiris. Tea is grown here at an altitude of around 2500 meters thus greatly enhancing its flavour. Korakundah enjoys the distinction of being the only South Indian Tea sought after in the premium tea markets of Europe and Japan.To produce the purest, organically cultivated tea you need natural surroundings, a pollution free atmosphere; processing in hazard free agricultural conditions.


At Korakundah, we follow the rules laid down in the book when it comes to producing organic tea. Pristine streams and virgin forests surround Korakundah, which is almost the crown of the Nilgiris. The air rings clear here and is absolutely pollution-free. We use natural processes and organic manure untouched by chemicals. Vermiculture, nature's own way of soil enrichment, is used extensively. Earthworms provide food for man by their beneficial effects on plant growth - aerating the soil, promoting drainage and drawing organic material into their burrows where it decomposes faster, thus producing more nutritive materials for growing plants. For improving and preserving soil conditions natural composts are developed on site.
